The GGFA Executive Team includes a 7-member Executive Board who are voted into their seat by the association members in good standing. They serve their terms and rotate off the board. The Executive Director has responsibility for the overall operation of the GGFA and the staff. Those serving as Director Emeritus support GGFA initiatives and have been prior members of the GGFA Executive Board and also the National Franchise Council (NFC).
Ginger has been in the Gold’s Gym Brand since 1989. She owned two gyms in North Carolina before selling them and moving home to Georgia, where the Franchisees created her position with the Association in 2005. As a Franchisee, she was President of the Gold’s Gyms of the Carolinas Alliance for five years. She was recognized at the 2015 GGFA Owners’ Conference for her dedicated 10 years of service in her position. Ginger’s ability to display critical thinking and execution leadership has secured the GGFA as a notable and valuable company not only within the Gold’s Gym brand but within the health club industry. She focuses daily on the Association’s strategy – “Create Conditions That Allow Franchisees to Thrive”. She lives in Suwanee GA. and has one son, Ron, and two grandsons, Kalib and Karson.
John Custard (JC)
JC has over 20 years of leadership experience in the health club business. He started with Gold’s as the head of Personal Training and Nutrition at the second Virginia Gold’s Gym in 1991. He became a partner in 1996 and has helped develop systems and oversee all sales programs in over 12 clubs. He is responsible for sales systems, operations and marketing and is instrumental in the new site selection and external and internal growth opportunities. John was named to the Advisory Board in 2007 and became an Executive Board Director in 2010.
Adam is a graduate of Wingate University where he majored in Business Management. He was also a 4 year letterman in football while at Wingate. Adam
has been an owner and operator of Gold’s Gym for the past 15 years with his family. They owned 6 locations during that time, and currently own 3 locations in Gwinnett County GA. His role in the company is Director of Operations. He serves as the current Vice President of the GGFA and also served as President of the former Gold’s Gym of Georgia Alliance. Adam is married to Kathryn, with whom he has 3 kids Alivia, Anthony, and Adrian.
Dusty Mason is the newest member of the GGFA Executive Board and is CEO of Carolina’s Fitness Group, Inc. that operates five Gold’s Gym locations in the Charlotte, NC metro market. He has been recognized for this business success and commitment to the Gold’s Gym Brand. He was named 2013 Visionary of the Year by Gold’s Gym International and was awarded the 2015 Presidents Award. He was also awarded the Bravo Award at the 2015 GGFA Owners’ Conference. His Epicenter location received the 2013 Gold’s Gym of the year. He serves as a GGFA Advisory Board member and on the Gold’s Gym Advertising Advisory Council, which both support the franchisees and the Gold’s Gym Brand. Dusty is also a principle partner in MaCo Development, LLC, a commercial real estate firm. He earned a master of science degree in leadership from Pfeiffer University and holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from Gardner-Webb University.
Eliud Garcia II
A graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Eliud currently is the Director of Operations and is a partner of the Gold’s Gyms of South Texas. He is a strong advocate for health and fitness in the south Texas community. The Gold’s Gym of South Texas most notable awards are: Above and beyond Employee of the year (2011), Best Community Program of the year (2013), Franchisee of the Year (2013), and Most inspirational Member (2014). Eliud Garcia II is married to Kristelle Sophia Garcia. Together they have two beautiful daughters Sophia Ella Garcia and Stella Alyssa Garcia.
Joe is an industry veteran with over 17 years of experience operating gyms and has been in the Gold’s brand for 10 years. He currently serves on the Gold’s Gym Franchisee Association Executive Board and is the Chief Operating Officer of 9 Gold’s Gym locations in 2 states, of which he is also a partner. His franchise group was awarded Gold’s Gym Franchisee of the Year in 2010 and the President’s Award in 2012.
Kim grew up in the fitness industry watching it grow and develop. She knew she wanted to be part of an organization that made a difference in people’s lives. Today, she is the managing partner of Gold’s Gym Dutchess County Organization and is actively involved in the day-to-day operation of clubs in Fishkill, and LaGrange, NY. Kim was awarded the 2008 Women in Business with Catherine Street Community Center. In 2010, Kim received the “40 under 40 Shakers and Movers Award” presented by the Chamber of Commerce. And in 2014, she was awarded Franchisee of the Year at the national Gold’s Gym convention. Kim serves on the Gold’s Gym Advertising Committee as co-director and on the GGFA Executive Board. Kim likes the community feel and works with local organizations such as The American Heart Association (Better U Program), Pitch for Kids Organization, American Diabetes and countless local runs. In 2014, Kim’s efforts in the community won her The IHRSA Award for Community Outreach. Kim is married to Dave Kenyon, who is also in the fitness business. They have 2 children, Kyra and Austin who keep her very busy with activities such as soccer and skiing.
Todd Levine is President of Webster Fitness Company, Inc. and Fairport Fitness Company LLC, located in the Rochester, NY area. Todd became affiliated with Gold’s Gym in 1982. As a graduate of Monroe Community College with a degree in Business Administration, he has over three decades of experience in the fitness industry. His gyms have won awards for Outstanding Promotions, Corporate Programming, and in 2012, Franchisee of the Year. He currently serves on the Gold’s Gym Advertising Advisory Council. He served on the GGFA Advisory Board for three years prior to being elected to the Executive Board.
Blair spent 2.5 years as VP of Strategic Initiatives for Medallia, Inc., the global leader in Customer Experience Management (CEM) technology and is certified in CEM through the Medallia Institute. He is currently an educator for the Medallia Institute, President of Club Works Inc., specializing in Medallia’s CEM system for the fitness industry and is Medallia’s subject matter expert on operationalizing CEM. Blair is President of Confluence Fitness Partners, Inc. operating two Gold’s Gyms in the Wenatchee Valley for over 30 years, the former President of the Gold’s Gym Franchisee Association (GGFA), Director Emeritus for the GGFA and has been inducted into the Gold’s Gym Hall of Fame. He has won all major Gold’s Gym awards: President’s Award, Franchisee of the Year, Visionary of the Year along with the prestigious GGFA Bravo Award.
Gordon and his family own and operate three gyms in Douglasville and Austell, Georgia in the west suburbs of Atlanta. Gold’s Gym awards include Best Gym Conversion in 1997 and Best Customer Service in 2000. The owners and staff have a fanatic dedication to great customer service and are consistently in the top 10 Medallia rankings for Gold’s Gyms. Gordon has a history of service to the brand and is currently Chairman of the Gold’s Gym Advertising Advisory Committee through April 2015. He has served as a Director on the GGFA Executive Board and member of the National Franchise Counsel. He is currently a Director Emeritus of the GGFA. Gold’s Gym awards for service: Mr. “G” Award (1999), Team Player of the Year (2000), Visionary of the Year (2010), The President’s Award (2011), and Gold’s Gym Hall of Fame (2014). In 2014 he received the GGFA Bravo Award. Gordon is a graduate of Georgia Tech, Colonel, US Marine Corps Reserve, retired and former manufacturing executive.
Mike and his partner Art Carril own and operate Gold’s Gym in Paramus, NJ, which held its Grand Opening in 1992. Mike was the President of the GGFA from 2010-2014 and he is currently the President of the Gold’s Gym Northeast Atlantic Alliance. Mike has held numerous positions serving the Gold’s Gym family, including Chairperson of the Gold’s Gym Advertising Advisory Committee (GGAAC) for many years. Mike is a past Franchisee of the Year winner, Appreciation Award winner and Visionary Award winner for Gold’s Gym. Mike was a recipient of the prestigious Hall of Fame Award at the 2015 Gold’s Gym Convention and was also recognized with an award at the 2015 GGFA Owners’ Conference for his support of his fellow franchisees. Mike’s original Gold’s Gym Paramus Bike Team and work with Diabetes led to the National Strategic Partnership and Tour de Cure sponsorship between Gold’s Gym and the American Diabetes Association.
