Director
Matt started with Gold’s Gym at a corporately owned location in Washington DC as a Front Desk Team Member in 2001. After moving on from a previous career working with special needs children, he decided to come on board with Gold’s as a full-time Membership Advisor and worked his way up to the GM role at that location in a relatively short period of time. He then progressed his career to a multi-unit leader as an Area Manager, District Manager, Divisional VP and eventually to the Senior VP role overseeing the Eastern Division of the corporate stores comprised of 75 locations. In March of 2020 Matt became a franchisee with Gold’s Gym by acquiring the 24 DC Metro corporate locations with his business partners, Josh Fuglsby and Brenda Jorgensen, which has been an exciting journey thus far.
Matt values people above all else and believes when you have the right people and develop them both personally and professionally, then the success of the business will follow.
Director
I joined our Gold's Gym franchise in El Paso, TX, in October 2015 as soon as I got off the plane from England having just received my green card. We've developed a loyal team who have been with our franchise since opening our first location August 2015. We will soon be opening our 3rd location and are very excited. I am fully immersed in our industry by taking health and fitness seriously. Having lost a lot of weight and exercising every day I feel fitter than ever. Part of my daily routine is running with my rescue dog. As an animal advocate, I support our local Humane Society in my capacity as Vice President and do everything I can to raise awareness of the great job this animal shelter does. Interesting facts about me are that I lived in several countries, I'm a huge fan of craft beer and I'm a licensed skydiver having completed 186 skydives. Recently I proudly became a US citizen.
